Royal Institute of British Architects. The RIBA champions good quality building design through training and regulation of architects in their competence and professional conduct, to ensure high standards for the consumer. RIBA members are required to meet high standards and carry out continuous professional development training every year in order to keep up to date with the latest standards and best practice.
The ARB maintains a list of registered architects and ensures that only those with the prescribed qualifications can use the protected title "Architect", so visit the Arb web-site to check your architect is legally entitled to use this title. All ARB members are required to carry professional indemnity insurance of £250,000 minimum.
Association of Energy Conscious Builders. The AECB promote excellence in sustainable building design, through training and standards. It is a network of members and companies at the forefront of sustainable design.
