About the Business
A general architecture practice was founded in London in 1975 and expanded to offices in Covent Garden. In 1980 the practice developed a historic building specialism, producing new designs in a historic context, converting existing buildings and conservation-repairing historic fabric. The office moved to Hertford, in 1985 and to Southwold in 2000, where it is now based and has developed as a historic-building practice. Clients are private individuals and families, charity organizations, church parishes or government organisations.
In 1995 Alan Greening was invited to become a "Commissioned Architect" consultant to English Heritage advising it on church, industrial and large-house projects. The practice serves clients throughout the Home Counties and East Anglia and projects are currently involved in Suffolk, Essex, Kent and Hertfordshire. Alan greening has been a tutor and lecturer in various schools of art and architecture since 1982 from Rochester to Manchester and London to Bournemouth.
