About the Business
Maria and Karolina met in 2004 while working at the UL Architects, a multi-disciplinary award winning architectural practice owned by the University of Lincoln. At the University they worked on a wide range of prestigious projects including the GCW University Library, the Engine Shed Student Union, the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, and the National Centre for Food Manufacturing in Holbeach. Today Maria and Karolina work together at Karaolides Szynalska Architects in addition to teaching at the Lincoln School of Architecture, where they develop their interests in sustainability, place making and education.
Maria studied up to Masters level at Sheffield University, and she gained her professional architectural qualifications at the University of Lincoln. As an architect at Mouchel (Lincoln) she has worked on a number of complex education facilities for Lincolnshire County Council; including the Warren Wood Community School - a special educational centre of excellence.
